Samsung Galaxy M30s Summary
Samsung launched its latest Samsung Galaxy M30s smartphone on the 18th September 2019. And, we got to place our hands on this hefty yet light new addition to Samsung’s line up of mid-range phones.
Its biggest highlight is definitely the 6000Mah battery. The battery gives you 2-days battery life on a single charge. Add to that, it supports fast charging, too. Want to know more? Check out below where we get into the details!
In terms of display, the Samsung Galaxy M30s comes with a 6.40-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It’s a Samsung display, of course it’s going to be stunning.
The bezels are slim but the chin is a bit thick, however, you still get around 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio, which is more than great. Overall, it’s great for viewing videos, browsing and playing games.
Performance and Software
The latest M30s is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 9611 processor. This processor has 4 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and 4 cores clocked at 2.3GHz.
This device has 4GB/ 6GB of RAM and 64/ 128GB of ROM. The ROM can be expanded via microSD card (up to 512GB) with a dedicated slot. Furthermore, the Samsung Galaxy M30s runs One UI based on Android 9 Pie.
We got our hands on the 6GB + 128GB variant which offered a pretty smooth experience. When it comes to gaming, the Galaxy M30s can easily run games like PUBG in high graphics without a lag. Plus, don’t forget that huge battery, it surely lets you play for longer hours with less drainage.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy M30s packs a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture; a second 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a third 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Also, there are a few modes like Photo, Live Focus, Video, Super Slow-mo, Pro, Panorama and Night and Food. The camera on the back also has autofocus. Still talking about the camera, it has an AI scene optimizer and auto HDR.
It has a plastic unibody panel on the back with a triple camera setup on the top left corner and an easy to reach fingerprint sensor. Despite its huge battery, its design keeps it light and nice to hold.
The M30s comes in three different colours – the Opal Black, Sapphire Blue and Pearl White. We had the phone in all three colors, and believe me, they’re stunning.
My concern was if they have removed the headphone jack, but it turns out it has all the necessary ports. There’s your standard Type-C port on the bottom alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack.
You can also find a single speaker grille on the bottom. And lastly, it has a triple card slot that can hold two nano SIM cards and a microSD card as well.

Is it worth your money?
Going from the specs and features, this phone is worth its price. The 48 megapixel camera makes it more relevant than M30, and the 6000 Mah battery is no doubt something very desirable.
In addition, with the new Exynos 9611 processor, it certainly is a worthy upgrade to the M30. One thing I’d mention is, the 15W fast charging, which is good in itself, seems a bit unmatched for this phone’s huge battery. Considering the size of the battery, a faster 18W charging support makes more sense.
In the end, if you’re looking for a phone with a beautiful display, long battery life, good camera, and overall all-round experience, this is a worthy choice.
