Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Launched – Here’s what to expect

Samsung has now finally announced the launch of the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. Samsung launched the new device during CES 2022. As is with the “FAN EDITION” – FE, the new phone looks and functions much like its namesake, the Samsung Galaxy S21. However, there are still plenty of differences, especially when it comes to pricing. The phone is yet to be launched here in Nepal but that does not mean it’s not available for pre-bookings. If you want to be the first one to get your hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, you can pre-book it on Daraz. Click the link below to pre-book the new Galaxy S21 FE.

In this blog, we’re going to give you all the information you need on the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, starting with the Display and Design.

Display & Design

With a 6.4-inch screen, the new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE sits right between the 6.1-inch Galaxy S21 and 6.7-inch Galaxy S21 Plus. And just like those smartphones, the display has a 1080 x 2400 resolution along with a 120Hz refresh rate. Another thing that’s similar is the Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen tech – To be honest, this is just Samsung’s marketing term for a type of AMOLED panel that first popped up in the Galaxy S20 smartphones. Bright, vibrant screens, colors, and contrast all make the Galaxy S21 FE a perfect device for streaming TV shows or playing games.

As for the design, the S21’s rear portion features the same rear camera and contour cut as the S21 – a minor difference being that the FE incorporates a plastic material around the rear cameras whereas the S21 has metal. Likewise, the FE’s power button and volume rocker are on the right edge of the phone. The USB-Type C port is located at the bottom edge but sadly does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Oddly enough, the new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE features the Snapdragon 888 chipset – which was the top-end Android processor for the best part of 2021. But as we hit the new year, many new smartphones have already adapted the newly-unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. However, the 888 chipset is a 5G-enabled one, so worry not, your Galaxy S21 FE will connect to next-gen networks. Likewise, the chip is also paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM. Although the 888 chipsets might not be the latest or the most powerful chipset on the market, the difference between the 888 and its successors is marginal. It is still quite a supremely powerful processor that runs demanding apps with ease. The S21 FE is quite amazing in terms of mobile gaming and streaming media.

The Galaxy S21 FE runs Android 12, with Samsung’s One UI 4 fork. The main change that the Android 12 brings in comparison to the previous versions is increased customization, more specifically in the users’ ability to pick a color scheme for the menus and icons. The RAM, processor, and screen refresh rate makes navigating the FE’s menus quite smooth.

Battery & Connectivity

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is equipped with the fairy standard 4,500mAh battery. This might be a deal-breaker for some but that’s how it is. If you’re a light user, the S21 FE’s power will be perfect for you. But if you like your device to hold power for a prolonged period of time, you just might want to consider other options. The Galaxy FE supports a 25W charge, but Samsung has chosen to offer a 15W charger included in the box.

As for connectivity, the S21 FE offers NFC, Bluetooth, Type C 1, GPS, and sensors such as Gyro Sensor, Compass, Proximity Sensor, Barometer and Accelerometer are also all present. And the phone comes with an under-display optical fingerprint sensor.

The new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE’s camera performance is quite similar and comparable to that of the S21 and S21 Plus. The similarities outweigh the difference. The rear side features a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide and an 8MP telephoto camera.

On the front of the phone is a 32MP selfie camera which is an upgrade from other S21 models’ 10MP camera. Overall, the S21 FE’s rear and front cameras deliver stunning, vibrant pictures.
