Infinix, a Hong Kong-based smartphone company, has been creating a good buzz especially in the budget smartphone market. Infinix’s mid range phones like Infinix Note 7 have been a hit as users laud the phone’s ability to provide good gaming experience at such low rates. Infinix was founded in 2013, and since then has been working hard to produce the best Android Smartphones. It seems all those years of research and development is finally paying off as the company has been producing really solid devices at unbelievable price ranges.  Let’s take a look at a few that are currently available on Daraz.

Infinix Note 7 Summary

“Surprisingly Good” is what folks at Gadgetbyte Nepal have to say about the Infinix Note 7.  And I totally agree with the statement. The device is a sweet surprise for something at its price range. Let’s look at a quick summary of the phone.

Display

Infinix Note 7 has a 6.95-inch touchscreen display with a pixel resolution of 720×1640 and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. An 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G70 processor featuring 2 cores clocked at 2GHz and 6 cores clocked at 17GHz power the phone. The phone also has 6GB of RAM, awesome right? And wait, it also has a huge 5000mAh non-removable battery. Furthermore, the Infinix Note 7 supports proprietary fast charging, and runs on Android 10.

Camera

Keeping in touch with the latest trends, the Infinix Note 7 offers a 48-megapixel primary camera on the back with an f/1.79 aperture and a pixel size of 1.6-micron; a second 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a third 2-megapixel camera. Whereas, the phone has a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.

Build

In terms of build and appearance, the phone has a beautiful gem cut texture design. It is called so as the back panel is made up of polycarbonate material that looks like the face-up shape of the finished gem. Infinix Note 7 has a tiny, punch-hole camera lens in order to make the viewing experience as immersive as possible. You can get the phone in three different colours – Forest Green, Aether Black, and Bolivia Blue.

Performance

The Infinix Note 7 is equipped with XOS 6.0 based on Android 10. Adding more delight, this smartphone holds 128GB of ROM which can be expanded upto 2TB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Furthermore, the phone fills in all the standard requirements like dual-SIM abilities accepting Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, FM radio, 3G, and 4G. It also has all the necessary sensors including the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor. For extra security, the device supports face unlock.

Room for Improvement

The phone lacks a Micro USB port. Also, the User Interface (UI) needs improvement. It has bloatwares and features which can be more of a hindrance to the user.

Conclusion

Overall, the phone is a good choice at the price range. It matches and sometimes beats competition in battery, camera, and display, however the UI needs some improvements.  Currently, Infinix Note 7 price in India starts at Rs. 21,990. You can get additional Rs. 400 off when you buy it from Daraz till the 19th of October.

Infinix HOT 9 Play Summary

Build and Appearance

The Infinix Hot 9 Play has a large plastic body with a glossy back panel showing off the gem-cut texture. Except for the back panel, the rest are all plastic including the buttons. You can get Hot 9 Play in Quetzal Cyan, Violet, Ocean Wave, and Midnight Black color options.

Display

The Infinix Hot 9 Play has a 6.82-inch display featuring an HD+ display with a pixel density of 263 PPI. The size of the display and the low resolution doesn’t help in the viewing experience. Also, it lacks a protective covering as well. However, at this price range it is acceptable just the resolution takes the fun away of having a huge screen.

Performance

The 4/64GB option of the Hot 9 Play is powered by MediaTek’s Helio A25 processor which is perfect for a bit of gaming and running your daily apps. More so, you can easily play games like PUBG Mobile Lite lag free at a good frame rate. Furthermore, this device’s storage capacity can be expanded up to 256GB.Furthermore, the phone runs on Android 10 out with Infinix’s XOS UI on top. Most importantly, the phone has a huge 6000 Mah battery that will last you 2 days! And although the phone supports 10W charging, it does so via the Micro USB port and can take upto 3 hours to fully charge.

Security Features

The Infinix Hot 9 Play has a  rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which is quite accurate. You will also find a face-unlock option which isn’t as effective as the fingerprint scanner.

Camera

The Hot 9 Play a has a main 3MP camera lens at the back with QVGA low-light sensor and Triple-LED flash. The camera is decent and can take good shots in good lighting conditions. Furthermore, the pictures produced are almost better than its competitions. When it comes to taking selfies, the phone has an 8MP shooter with flash which isn’t that great, but at this price there isn’t more to expect.

Room for Improvement

The Infinix Note 9 play can use a little bit of improvement like any phone would. However, there are a few things you can’t get over. The phone has bloatwares that left disabled or removed wouldn’t hurt the user experience. The single front-firing speaker setup and fast charging capabilities needs an upgrade as well.

Conclusion

If you aren’t that picky when it comes to phones, are under budget, need a big screen, long lasting battery, gaming capabilities, and decent camera setup, this phone is for you.

The current price in Nepal for Infinix Hot 9 Play is Rs. 14,990.
