Oppo VOOC Charger

What is OPPO’s VOOC charger?

What is OPPO’s VOOC charger?

VOOC fast charging is the proprietary fast charging technology developed by the OPPO Electronics. It sets itself apart with the out of the box fast charging technology. Other electronic & smartphone manufacturers rely on the different prospect of fast charging technology. Oppo’s VOOC charging charges the mobile from 0-100% in just 35 minutes.

VOOC Charge Graph

What is fast charging?

Smartphones of the last generation tend to charge at a much slower rate. There was the onset of fast charging technology with the promise of charging the mobile phones at much advanced and faster rates than before.

Smartphone batteries charge when a current passes through them. Greater current and higher voltages charge batteries faster, but there’s a limit to what they can take. The charge controller (IC) protects against dangerous spikes in current.

Let’s dive into more techy stuff !!

The controller chip regulates the overall flow of electricity into and out of the battery. Generally speaking, lithium-ion controllers define the current (in amps) at which the battery charges by measuring the battery’s cell current and voltage and then adjusting the current flowing in. Some use a DC to DC converter to change the input voltage, and fancier integrated circuits adjust the resistance between the charger input and the battery terminal to ramp the current flow up or down. The amount of current the charge controller draws is generally dictated by the phone’s software.

What other smartphone makers are doing?

When you are charging your handset, it will overheat and when you are attempting to charge your smartphone and play a video at the same time, heat is going to be generated from two different sources. At this point, the fast-charging feature of the smartphone shuts off and starts to charge normally in order to reduce those temperatures.

Fortunately, VOOC does the opposite and is able to retain lower temperatures while charging the battery rapidly at the same time. OPPO’s proprietary fast-charging technology charges at the same rate irrespective of the user playing an intensive 3D application or engaged in media consumption.

A normal USB 2.0 port works at 5V and 0.5A which is 2.5W. A charger running at 5V and 2A generates 10W, a fast charger using 9V and 1.67A creates 15W, and so on. One of the key differences between VOOC and other quick charging systems is that VOOC uses higher levels of current, whereas the others use higher voltages. So instead of 9V and 1.67A (to give 15W), VOOC uses 5V and 4A (to give 20W).

Final Verdict:

To summarize, VOOC is a fast charging system and in terms of its basic quick charging abilities, it is one of the leaders in its own field. It is certainly quick, as shown by the charging times of both the OPPO F7 and the OPPO F9, two phones which use the VOOC system. However, there is more to VOOC then just charging times. Rather than using 9V or 12V to achieve higher charging rates, it uses 5V but with a higher current. The result is that VOOC compatible devices don’t heat up as much during re-charge. Also, VOOC is probably the only fast charging system on the market that can charge a smartphone at a reasonable rate even when the device is simultaneously being used to watch a movie.

Brace yourself, Oneplus 5T is here!

Brace yourself, Oneplus 5T is here!

Much awaited and anticipated smartphone is finally here at Daraz. With lots of buzz and hype, Oneplus stormed into the scene of high specifications with the budget price. An incremental upgrade from the Oneplus 5. It’s not just an upgrade though; it’s also a replacement, as OnePlus ceased production and sales of the phone it launched just six months prior to the arrival of the OnePlus 5T.

So what do you get with OnePlus’ second generation ‘T’? The main talking points include the biggest screen the firm has ever put on a phone, a tweaked design, improved rear camera and face recognition. In short, there’s enough new stuff to justify its existence without it offering a radically new smartphone experience.

A processor for heavy gamers

Oneplus always embrace the processors made by Qualcomm. This Oneplus 5T packs a punch in its performance with the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset clocked with Octa-core (4×2.45 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo).

Gaming Review in Oneplus 5T

Gaming is like walking in the park. With least of the heat emission during the gameplay, Oneplus claims it to be a mini gaming device. Hardcore gamers can heavily rely on its performance. One can play the most intense games and perform the heaviest of the tasks without a lag or a glitch in the system.

Snappy Face recognition for security geeks

Another key feature and a first for OnePlus is the inclusion of face recognition tech as the brand attempts to ride the coattails of the iPhone X. Face recognition on the OnePlus 5T isn’t as advanced as Apple’s offering, but it’s still surprisingly good, using over 100 facial identifiers to check it’s you. It’s used only for unlocking the handset, and you’ll need to double-tap the screen or press the power key to utilize it. The good news is that it’s really easy to set up, with the phone requiring only a matter of seconds to lock in your look.

Face Recognistion in Oneplus 5T

It’s incredibly fast, with almost no delay between you tapping the screen or button and your home screen appearing before you. OnePlus boasts the tech can identify you and unlock the handset in just 0.4 seconds.

Menstrual Cups Feature Image

Menstrual Cups- Killing Taboo with an Environmental Friendly & Hygienic Option

Menstrual Cups- Killing Taboo with an Environmental Friendly & Hygienic Option

Many of us have burning questions related to the term Menstrual Cups. What is a Menstrual Cup?  A strangely shaped cup that can replace all the conventional sanitary napkins. Yes, you are bound to think that as the only sanitary napkins we have come across are the pads and tampons.

Menstrual cups are the bell-shaped cup with a tip for the better grip of the product. It is a feminine hygiene product that is inserted into the vagina during menstruation. It is mainly utilised purpose is to prevent menstrual fluid (blood from uterine lining) from leaking onto clothes. Most menstrual cups are now manufactured from medical grade silicone because of its durability and hypoallergenic properties, though there are also brands made of TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer). Menstrual cups are becoming more popular worldwide, with many different brands, shapes and sizes on the market. Most are reusable, though there is at least one brand of disposable menstrual cups currently manufactured.

Unlike the absorption of the menstrual fluid as by sanitary pads and tampons, menstrual cup collects the fluid which can be disposed of as per the convenience. It is placed at the base of the cervix in the vaginal fornix and covers the cervix, like a diaphragm. Because of its placement, It is leakage free. It is not a contraceptive nor does it protect against sexually transmitted infections.

Why Buy/Use It?

  • Safer than the conventional sanitary pads and tampons.
  • It lasts for 6-12 hours depending on the amount of the menstrual fluid.
  • More cost-effective to own a menstrual cup as it is more viable for a reusable option.
  • Considered to be more menstrual hygienic for the usage.
  • Since reusable, they are more environmentally friendly.
  • Less hard on the degradation of the environment and menstrual cups help to reduce solid waste.

How To Use the Menstrual Cups?

Step By Step Instructions are given below:

1. Fold and holdMenstrual cup holds

Always start by washing your hands. Fold the cup using a fold that works best for you. Many starts with the C-fold (as shown in the picture). If that doesn’t work for you, try some of the other folds (as shown in the picture) to make insertion easier. Every menstruating women’s anatomy is unique, so find the fold that works best for you.

2. Insert and ensure

Cup Insertion
Illustration of an inserted menstrual cup

As with tampons, gently insert the folded cup into your vagina, tilting it back to the base of your spine. The cup should sit as low as it can comfortably sit inside your vagina, normally lower than a tampon but with the stem fully inside.

When the cup is inside, it will pop open, creating a light suction. The suction is how the menstrual cup prevents leaks, so use your finger to check if it is fully unfolded. Twist or rotate the cup if you need to.

Don’t rush, take your time – it’s like learning to use contact lenses.

3. Use it up to six to twelve hours

One of the great benefits of using a menstrual cup is that it can be used for up to twelve hours. How often you need to empty your cup depends on your cycle and flow, though most menstrual cup users find they need to empty it only in the morning and again in the evening. It also depends upon the convenience of the user usage.

4. Remove and Empty

With clean hands, gently pull the stem of the cup downwards until you can reach and grip the base of the cup. Pinch the base to release the suction and take it out gently.

Steps of Cleaning a Menstrual Cup
Steps of Cleaning a menstrual Cup

You may need to use your pelvic muscles to push your cup lower in the vagina to help you reach the base with your fingers.

When you have removed your cup, empty it into the toilet, and rinse it with warm water.

If you do not have access to water, you can wipe it with some tissue or simply reinsert it directly after emptying it. But make sure to rinse it at your next available opportunity and rinse your menstrual cup.

Menstrual cups may be emptied into a small hole in the soil or in compost piles since the menstrual fluid is a valuable fertilizer for plants and any pathogens of sexually transmitted diseases will quickly be destroyed by soil microbes. The water used to rinse the cups can be disposed of in the same way. This reduces the amount of wastewater that needs to be treated.

5. Re-Insert

When your cup is rinsed, you can reinsert it, and you are ready to go again! Switching from tampons to a menstrual cup is no big deal.

When not in use, store the cups in the carry pouch provided when you buy the product. Be more careful about the storage of the cups, as it is more prone of being infected.

Making the change to another menstrual product is easier than you may think. Using a menstrual cup is very similar to using tampons, just with improved health benefits – no irritation, no chemicals and no drying out.

TABOO IN DIFFERENT CULTURES:

Feminine hygiene products such as menstrual cups that need to be inserted into the vagina can be unacceptable for different cultural reasons. There are myths that they interfere with female reproductive organs and that females lose their virginity. Use of a menstrual cup could stretch or break the hymen. Since some cultures value preservation of the hymen as evidence of virginity, this can discourage young women from using cups.

In rural Nepal, an ancient ritual called “Chaupadi” is still prevalent. Chaupadi is a tradition practised for centuries that banishes females during their menstruation period from the house. Though banned by the Honourable Supreme Court of Nepal in 2004, this ritual is still going on without being curbed by the administration.

But a menstrual Cup manufacturer named Ruby Cup has been active in remote Nepalese villages since 2017. The Ruby Cup has been running campaigns both online and offline to contribute an extra cup to the poor females of rural parts of Nepal every time when someone buys their cup in all platforms (both offline and Online). They have been teaching the users how to correctly use the cups and has been a great impact in terms of health issues faced by the poor females in different areas of the world.

However, slowly and gradually, the views and conception about the usage of the product have been changing through the different kinds of campaigns.

An Ultimate Buying Guide for Refrigerators

An Ultimate Buying Guide for Refrigerators

An Ultimate Buying Guide for Refrigerators

Summer season is raging full-on this time and it is high time to add a new refrigerator or upgrade your old power sucking machine. This season Daraz.com.np has brought you a range of refrigerators to choose from. While buying a new refrigerator, we spend much of our time in looking for the perfect device that could last at least a decade. Here is the ultimate buying guide for refrigerators.

Here is the detailed buying guide to consider while shopping:

While shopping for the refrigerators, the first that pops in our mind “How much does it hold?”. And yes, it is one of the major factors in determining which one to buy. Too big !! And it will not be viable to purchase and Too small !! you will end up filling all the compartments and there will be more items outside the refrigerator than inside.

There is a range of the various capacities of the refrigerators to choose from the least of 30 litres to the maximum of 360 litres. This huge range gives the consumers a spectrum to shop from.

Buying Options:

The most important thing that should be considered is the star ratings which simply means the amount of power consumed by the appliances. More the star ratings less will be the power consumed.

Star ratings of refrigerator in Nepal
All calculations are based on an electricity price of NPR 7.3/kWh.

Test conditions used to rate appliances try to replicate actual use. However, actual energy consumption will depend on how you use the appliance. The important point is that appliances are tested under the same conditions so that comparisons can easily be made between similar models. While the annual energy consumption of 384 Kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year on the label may not mean a great deal to you, to work out the estimated.

Buying Options:

Some of the refrigerators might have increased height or the width. So, while deciding which refrigerators to buy, the area it occupies can be a vital characteristic to consider. Both the type of the refrigerators have limitations in installation. Tall refrigerators could occupy the vertical length of the kitchen and the too big in size, the refrigerator will take up all the horizontal space.

Experts in electronics advise the consumer to first measure all the dimensions (Length* Breadth*Height) of the area which the newly bought refrigerators will be installed.

Buying Options:

Doors are the most underrated part of a refrigerator. Going to the scientific part of the refrigerator, doors are the major thing that keeps them cool. Have you ever noticed that when you keep the doors of the appliance open, more time it takes to cool? And being able to store all of your condiments in the door makes it easy to access them quickly, and as a result, they won’t get shoved to the back of the refrigerator and get lost?

# French Door

Instead of wasting electricity and causing your refrigerator to warm up while you look for the food that you want, a French door refrigerator is easy to search through at a glance. They have wider shelves, big door bins, very deep drawer freezers, and adjustable top shelves that make it easy to store tall items.

Possibly the most versatile (and most expensive) type of fridge, French door fridges are similar in width to side-by-side models, and have the entire bottom third devoted to freezer space, just like a bottom freezer model. As with side-by-side fridges, the fridge door is split into two, opening from the centre for the fridge section.

The main advantage to this slightly elaborate door configuration is that opening one of the half doors lets less cold air out than if you’d swung open both. The other advantage is the fact that as with a side-by-side model, the split doors mean less clearance is required between the fridge and your bench/other kitchen installations.

Side by Side

These fridges are essentially wider-than-usual fridges split in half, with one half being the fridge side and the other being the freezer side. For those who tend to freeze leftovers in high volume, or exist on freezer food, this type of fridge may be ideal. Some side-by-side fridges allocate slightly more room for the fridge section, however, the freezer will still be larger than that of any top or bottom freezer model. The doors open from the centre rather than the side, meaning less spatial clearance is required to swing the fridge door(s) open.

Also worth noting is that side-by-side models often come with features such as water, ice dispensers, and external user interface panels, which some may view as desirable features.

# Bottom Freezer

A bottom freezer fridge is just like a top freezer fridge, with the obvious exception being that the freezer compartment is at the bottom. That’s all there is to it. Generally speaking, these models are less common, which means less variety/range, and as mentioned earlier, they tend to be less efficient than a top freezer model, meaning they could cost you more to run in the long-term

Top Freezer

This is the model that most of us will instantly visualise if someone says the word ‘fridge’ to us. It’s a single column refrigerator, with the top third (approximately) dedicated to a separate freezer compartment. This type of fridge is the most common, meaning it’s also generally the cheapest and has the widest range on offer.

Also definitely worth noting is that this is usually the most energy-efficient type, being about 10-25% more efficient than fridges with the bottom or side-mounted freezers. So if electricity bills are a concern, this could be the fridge for you!

Commercial See Through

Commercial refrigerators come with the see-through doors these days. They have adequate lighting for the display of the product. This type of refrigerators usually comes with the 3-5 doors and usually can accommodate the large sized two litres bottles easily.

# Mini

These type of refrigerators is often installed in office cabins and nowadays luxurious cars. Running low on power and less occupied space enables the user to accommodate anywhere in the room or cars.

Voltage is not a measurement of energy, as people often assume. Rather, it’s a measurement between two points, like the length. The voltage required to run an appliance tells you how much total energy is required to move an electrical charge along that line so that the appliance can operate. Thus, a fridge can’t have a certain voltage; however, it requires a specific amount of voltage to run.

Some devices, including refrigerators, don’t use the same amount of electricity the entire time they are running. Fridges run on a cycle, with the compressor running some of the time and then shutting off for a period of time. To get an accurate picture of how much energy the unit uses during an extended period, use a wattage somewhere between the lowest point (when the compressor is off) and the highest point (when it is running at full speed)

Refrigerator Best Practices:

Follow these guidelines to reduce the amount of energy your refrigerator uses:

  • Set the appropriate temperature.
  • Keep your refrigerator at 35 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place your fridge in a cool place.
  • Position your refrigerator away from a heat source such as an oven, a dishwasher, or direct sunlight from a window.
  • Allow air circulation behind the fridge.
  • Leave a few inches between the wall and the refrigerator, and keep the condenser coils clean if you have an older model. Read the user’s manual to learn how to safely clean coils. Coil cleaning brushes can be purchased at most hardware stores.
  • Check the door seals.
  • Make sure the refrigerator seals around the door are airtight. If not, replace them.
  • Keep the door closed.
  • Minimize the amount of time the refrigerator door is open.

  • SCREEN SIZE: –

Too large or too small ruins the experience of the watching your favourite team playing or the decisive moment in a TV series. It’s all about finding the sweet spot in the screen size. The sweet spot all depends on the area of the room and the viewing distance.

As to determine the perfect viewing distance following table could be followed:
TV Size Recommended distance for 1080p TV Recommended distance for 4K TV
14 inches 28 inches (2.3 foot) 14 inches (1.15 foot)
20 inches 40 inches (3.3 foot) 20 inches (1.67 foot)
23 inches 46 inches (3.83 foot) 23 inches (1.91 foot)
32 inches 64 inches (5.33 foot) 32 inches (2.66 foot)
40 inches 80 inches (3.3 foot) 40 inches (3.3 foot)
43 inches 86 inches (7.16 foot) 43 inches (3.5 foot)
48 inches 96 inches (8 foot) 48 inches (4 foot)
50 inches 100 inches (8.3 foot) 50 inches (4.16 foot)
55 inches 110 inches (9.16 foot) 55 inches (4.13 foot)
60 inches 120 inches (10 foot) 60 inches (5 foot)
65 inches 130 inches (10.83 foot) 65 inches (5.41 foot)
72 inches 144 inches (12 foot) 72 inches (6 foot)
  • SCREEN RESOLUTION: (Higher the better)

Resolution of a screen describes the sharpness of the TV picture, usually in terms of horizontal lines of pixels. Nowadays consumers are provided with the variations in screen resolution. From HD screens to the 2K and 4k resolutions. HD screen normally covers the 720p and 1080p. In simple words, the television set displays 720 lines scanned progressively (or in a single pass). Other HDTVs support the 1080p HD format, also called full HD, which has 1,080 lines of resolution.

2K and 4K displays the screen at the frame rates of 2160p and 4320p resolutions respectively. TV manufacturers are rapidly shifting from HDTVs to Ultra HD sets (also called 4K). These 4K models have four times the number of pixels as current HDTV screens. We’re talking 2,160 horizontal lines or 3840 x 2160 pixels. The biggest benefit of 4K TVs is that small objects on the screen have more detail, including sharper text. Overall, images appear richer and more life-like than on an HDTV, but the benefits can be subtle.

WHY SHOULD YOU PAY MORE FOR THE DIFFERENT SCREEN TYPES:

  • 4K Ultra HD TV: The most immediately noticeable advantage is the higher pixel count. Ultra HD cramps 8 million pixels into the same space in which a 1080p TV fits just 2 million pixels. It’s a noticeable upgrade, especially when watching native 4K content because the pixels are four times smaller and each one is getting a specific slice of the bigger picture. That, in part, is why Ultra HD makes more sense in larger screen sizes – the extra pixels have a bigger impact on a huge display
  • OLED TV: OLED technology has been a boon in the screen production business of televisions and smartphones alike. OLED uses Organic layering for the emission of light through the LEDs. This means with the sole sacrifice of the thickness of the screen, the image production will be of highest pixels. The picture thus produced will be crisper and there will be more depths in the blacks and whites of the images.  Because the light-emitting layers of an OLED are lighter, the substrate of an OLED can be flexible instead of rigid. OLED substrates can be plastic rather than the glass used for LEDs and LCDs.
  • 4K TV: 4K, also known as Ultra HD, refers to a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. That’s four times the 1,920 x 1,080 pixels found in your full HD TV. We’re looking at about 8.3 million pixels. Cramming so many pixels into a TV means a higher pixel density, and you should have a clearer, better-defined picture. It’s not about sharpness, it’s about letting you see more detail and texture.
  • FULL HD OR 1080P: We are all aware of this screen type, as it is the default screen size while buying a LED TV in the market. It produces 1920×080 pixels which will be more compatible for the smaller screen sizes and smaller room. With the area of less than five foot, this will be the best option at a reasonable price. The crispness would be less as compared to the above sizes, but it is the most reasonable value for money device.
  • HDR (High Dynamic Range)

HDR  is a new feature of 4K Ultra HD sets and it stands for high dynamic range, a reference to its ability to deliver more colours, more contrast levels and increased brightness. Basically, it means better contrast, greater brightness levels and a wider colour palette. It’s about making your films and TV shows look that bit more like real life.

HDR is essentially an upgrade of the 4K, or Ultra HD, format (it is not applicable to 1080p HD sets). For this new feature, TV makers are changing their strategy for the sets to distinguish them from standard 4K Ultra HD TVs.

The theory is the higher the dynamic range, the closer a photograph gets to real life. HDR for televisions is basically the same idea. The idea is to let you see more of what is recorded. You’ll get more details in the shadows and highlights. Sunlight will gleam properly off windows. Colours will be richer and more lifelike, with more delicate gradations and greater shifts in tone. Basically, your picture will look more natural and more real.

  • REFRESH RATES (Faster is Better)

Frame rates are the number of times in a second that a display hardware updates its buffer. This spec refers to the number of times per second that a video screen is updated, with a higher number yielding a smoother, more natural-looking motion (up to a point).

While buying a television, consumers are advised to choose the televisions with the frame rate of 120 Hz or greater. Since there aren’t that many per-second images in original video content, TVs handle the faster refresh rates in different ways. One method is to simply insert black images between the original pictures, tricking the viewer’s eyes into seeing a less blurry, more solid picture. Another technique is to generate and insert new images — showing a state of movement in between the two adjacent pictures — to display more realistic-looking motion. However, depending on how the video-processing is done, it can make a movie or sitcom look flat, or as if it were a poorly lit, old-time soap opera.

Some new models are boasting High-Frame-Rate (HFR) support, which means that they have both a higher refresh rate and added support for content with higher than 60 Hz frame rates. With HFR content set to come from both movies and live broadcast,  HFR will be especially good for live sports — it’s a feature to watch for in 2018.

  • HDMI AND OTHER CONNECTIVITY

It may seem like an afterthought, but pay attention to the number of HDMI inputs a set has. Manufacturers looking to shave costs may offer fewer HDMI plugs on the back. These ports can get used up quickly: Add a sound bar or Chromecast and a game console, and you’ve used three ports already.

If you have decided to take the plunge and get a 4K Ultra HD, make sure the set’s ports support HDMI 2.0 to accommodate future Ultra HD sources. Many TVs on the market have only one port that supports the 4K copy-protection scheme known as HDCP 2.2 (high-bandwidth digital content protection).

  • SCREEN MIRRORING

Modern television sets and smartphones are equipped with the feature of screen mirroring. Screen mirror is the term used to describe a duplicate screen which can be replicated to the nearby devices using a wireless network. This feature is found in most of the TVs sold in the market. It has been an underdog when someone wants to see the pictures taken in the smartphone and wants to show in the televisions.

Follow some simple steps and you are ready to watch your favourite TV show, films from mobile or laptop directly to the television wirelessly. Who would not want a TV cabinet free of wires? And being tangled with wires will make you feel like you are still in the 20th century.

Know About The Sunscreen You Choose This Summer

Know About The Sunscreen You Choose This Summer

While buying a sunscreen from the market, we often come across the term SPF. But little do we know about its working. We often ignore the vital information of sunscreen details. An SPF literally translates to Sun Protection Factor. In simple words, it is the measurement for the amount of time the sunscreen will protect a person from the harmful Ultraviolet (UV) sun rays. The sunscreen forms a layer in the outer part of the exposed skin which reflects the UV rays like a mirror.

To know how the sunscreen works, we shall have good knowledge about the sun rays. UVA and UVB rays are the different rays of the sun which have been differentiated by their frequencies. SPF sunscreen creams today are labelled as effective for UVA rays and UVB rays.

UVA rays penetrate deep into the skin which may cause deep impact in it. UVA rays are more harmful to the exposed skin than UVB rays. UVB, on the other hand, mainly affects the outer layer of the skin which is responsible for sunburns and some types of skin cancer. UVA rays steadily destroy the key substances in the skin that give the skin firmness and elasticity which in turn is the major contributor to wrinkles and skin cancer.

Facts about UV rays:-

Ultraviolet rays are mostly affected by geographical locations.

  • The closer to equatorial regions, the higher the UV radiation levels. UV radiation levels.
  • are highest under cloudless skies but even with cloud cover, UV radiation levels can be high. Scattering can have the same effect as the reflectance by different surfaces and thus increase total UV radiation levels.
  • At higher altitudes, a thinner atmosphere absorbs less UV radiation. With every 1000 meters increase in altitude, UV radiation levels increase by 10% to 12%.
  • Ozone absorbs some of the UV radiation that would otherwise reach the Earth’s surface. Ozone levels vary over the year and even across the day.

An easy way to tell how much UV exposure you are getting is to look for your shadow:

  • If your shadow is taller than you are (in the early morning and late afternoon), your UV exposure is likely to be lower.
  • If your shadow is shorter than you are (around midday), you are being exposed to higher levels of UV radiation. Seek shade and protect your skin and eyes.

How does the SPF work?

It is often suggested by the dermatologists to use the sunscreen with the SPF level 30 or higher. It usually determines the time period until which the cream will be effective. To find the amount of time, one has to simply multiply the SPF value with 30.

For example; If the sunscreen has the value of 30 then it will be good for protecting the skin for 900 minutes. However, the theoretical value can be different from the actual value. But the exposure time can vary with the intensity of the sunlight and most importantly the wrong application of the cream. It is, therefore, recommended to apply after every two hours.

  • SPF (30) blocks- 97% of the UVB rays
  • SPF (40) blocks – 97.3% of the UVB rays
  • SPF (45) blocks – 97.6% of the UVB rays
  • SPF (50) blocks – 98% of the UVB rays
  • SPF (60) blocks – 99% of the UVB rays

How to apply Sunscreen properly?

  1. Choose the sunscreen that has an SPF of 30 or higher, water resistant and provides broad-spectrum coverage.
  2. Apply sunscreen generously before going outdoors. It takes approx 15 minutes for the complete absorption of sunscreen cream by our skin. If early, the skin may be unprotected and subject to burning of the skin.
  3. Use about an ounce /2.88 g that is approximately the amount you can evenly spread through your palm.
  4. Apply sunscreen to all the exposed skin parts such as neck, face, ears, feet, and hands. If you have thinning hair, you can apply sunscreen to the scalp.
  5. Reapply sunscreen at after every two hours to remain protected or excessive sweating.
  6. Never use expired products. It may occasionally work in other products but it is a big “NO’’ in the sunscreen products.
